How Does Website Optimization Work?
Website Optimization – A/B Test ANYTHING.
Every site I build includes an A/B split testing system with powerful insights.
Website Optimization Made Easy
WHAT IS WEBSITE OPTIMIZATION A/B TESTING?
In other words, it is comparing two distinct designs or variations against each other with normal (random) viewers, while tracking the outcomes and analyzing the resulting data to determine which version affects the measurements of success more positively. If the goal of an A/B test is to increase sales, and the data shows the variation produces better email list sign-ups but lower sales, you wouldn’t keep that design. The test gave you valuable insight and you know you then need to analyze the data to try to determine how you can improve upon it next time.
Over time you will discover what works and what doesn’t, eventually (with persistence) you will start to see some success and positive website optimization will result incrementaly in your conversion rate (or whatever other key performance indicator is desiredfrom your A/B test). This process is referred to as continuous optimization, and it is a practice that successful marketers have been using as the fundamental foundation for their startegic marketing success.
WHY SHOULD I DO A/B SPLIT TESTING?
Not Testing Isn’t Smart
It’s actually pretty simple. You have traffic coming to your website anway. You might as well get them to help you determine what is working and what isn’t. And most importantly what element(s) can be improved over time to increase your bottom line.
Your Results Are Measurable
With every A/B test you are able to gather valuable knowledge to help you improve your offer. This will increase your confidence as your results are discovered.
Targeted FOCUS
Measured results obviously help you to focus your energy where it is the most productive.
Incremental Profits
It may not be nesscesary to throw out everything and start from scratch. Eespecially when you can do an A/B test to determine what improvement(s) can be made incrementally. This is the core of the A/B testing to determine what works and what needs to be improved upon.
Reduced Risk Factor
The data always tells the tale. You have to embrace it. This doesn’t mean it has to be difficult to gather. With an A/B test you can quickly gather enough data to reveal where you are peaking or where you need work. If you don’t test you won’t have any data with which to intelligently determine if where you are is as far as you can go. The post card example I shared in the first video is an excellent example of reducing risk while testing first and then rolling out the winner!
HOW MANY VARIABLES SHOULD I TEST?
HOW IS MY TRAFFIC DIVIDED?
IS THERE AN EXTRA FEE FOR WEBSITE OPTIMIZATION?
I will design variable modules for you to test or show you how to do it yourself. I will also show you how to quickly and easily track your split testing results anytime you want.
HOW MANY PAGE VISITS DO I NEED TO MEASURE RESULTS?
DOES A/B SPLIT TESTING NEGATIVELY AFFECT SEO?
WHAT SHOULD I TEST?
Calls-to-Action
Headline
Images
Audio / Video
However, you will be able to run tests on ANYTHING on your site!
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I RUN A/B SPLIT TESTING?
It depends on whether or not you want to settle for the results you have or want more. You should always be striving to get the absolute best website optimization you can achieve. I suggest running a test between two variables to determine a winner. Then run the winner against another variable to make sure it still wins etc.
HOW DO I SEE RESULTS OF MY A/B SPLIT TESTS?
I'm often asked by clients if there's a way they can show their appreciation to me for always being available to help empower them for real success. For those who wish to show me some love, here's a link to my Amazon wishlist. Thanks and know that every kind act is greatly appreciated and never forgotten.
You should assume an affiliate or reseller relationship exists and that when you make a purchase, I will receive a commission.
